Description

All Star Squadron was the series that started my comic collection. I stumbled onto issue #4 in a convenience store and then saw they also had #1 and #3. From then on I would go in every week to see if a new issue was in.

This is from the second story in issue #23. The Secret Origin of Amazing Man.

I'm still new to comic art...there are a lot of blue circles. I am assuming those were errors / mistakes because there is "white-out" inside/near each circle.

First of all, Craig, well come to the hobby! It's always cool to see new people entering. Secondly, welcome to Comic Art Fans. You'll find that the more you interact with other collectors here, by leaving them comments and always making it a habit to click the thumbs up button beside every comment that others leave for you in order to let them know you've read the comments and appreciate them for taking the time to leave them, you'll start making new friends in this hobby faster than you can imagine.  😊

Fun page you got here. I love Dr. Fate's costume, especially his helmet, so it's a bonus any time he's on a page. It's interesting that a convenience store of all places still had copies of All-Star Squadron #1 available on the racks when issue #4 had just come in. But all the better for you!

Thanks Ruben,  I've browsed Comic Art Fans off and on for over a year before I joined.  Always impressed by all the artwork that people have collected.   I'm thrilled that I can be a part of it now.

Dr Fate has always been one of my favorites from the Super Squad days.

I grew up in a small town and no comic shops in the area (that I know of)  The store itself had very few comics at all...maybe 20 in total scattered with other magazines...and appearantly spanning several months.

I'm thrilled that you've taken the time to to feel your way in slowly and finally joined in on the fun, Craig. Glad you're a part of it now.

I've heard many similar stories like yours, of growing up in a small town with no comic shops in the area and having to reply on whatever random comics the convenience stores would get in. Couldn't've been easy, but it's good that once the comic bog bit you, you were in for good, regardless of how tough it was to "collect" in those days!
