Death in the Family.  Mignola brings all the brutal trauma to the cover that still haunts Batman to this day as his greatest failure.  Showing that even the Batman is human and like the rest of us.

So iconic. This cover brings be back to the hey day of limited series, and going to my lcs with this and the other death in the family issues on the wall. This run was unforgettable. Very, very cool.

This is great artwork but I found the whole concept of 'death voting' pretty sick. Anything for cheap publicity. Whos next..Superman? Captain America? Johnny Storm? The list of shame goes on. I know, Lets have a relaunch again....Continuity? Respect? Whats that?

Doesn't get more iconic than this. This is a cornerston of any comic original art collection. Propbably the most memorable cover by Mike from this era, hell by any artist of that era. Congrats.

"Congratulations" doesn't even cut it.

When I saw this piece come up I practically had a panic attack. I was so not ready for this kind of grail piece to become available and that crashed hard into the realisation that there was no chance I could build the funds to even be in with a shot.

A true masterpiece. The quiet of a brutal moment frozen in time. I could stare at it for hours.
