DescriptionHere's where it all began for me as an original art collector. I used to have a subscription to the weekly Comics Buyers Guide, which was FULL of ads for art and comics for sale. I was barely in senior high school when I bought this page for the princely sum of 17 dollars. I still have the issue of CBG and I can still look at the ad, some forty years later. I think I did okay with my choice, looking at the other pages for sale in the ad, but...damn...wish I would have bought a whole lot more with my lawn-mowing money back in those days! I'll drop a detail of the page in additional images, along with the original ad, and a few more ads from the same issue, so we can all cry about how cheap pages used to be!Social/Sharing |

This page has all the powerful acrobatics and twisting to represent the mind thinking about the possibilities of what art could have been bought. Just like the page reaches a conclusion to the story with the promise of the next issue, there is always another day for us to keep collecting and keep daydreaming.

What a page! It's amazing Colan could cram so much fluid action in each of these *10* panels. Thanks for posting these ads! What year was this issue of CBG?

Makes sense. With early Miller DD pages selling for $45, my time machine is going to pay for itself many times over!
