My Mikel Janin Batman Year One commission. Mikel works mostly with digital with some exceptions. Anytime I see his inks I fall in love. His shading with Batman looming over Gotham city really gives it that year one feel. Batman year has always been my favorite look. Just a simple man in a suit without so many gadgets. I can see some David Mazzucchelli with the gray tone. Mikel Janin always puts out great work, especially Batman. This one sits above the fireplace.

This is special as you normally only see the digital prints from Janin. That background wash work is really nice and light. Janin takes this into account and puts more dark shadows on Batman.

Gorgeous work by Mikel Janin! I love his ink wash here, it really makes the piece feel more solid, more substantial. It definately has the Batman Year One vibe. Congrats!
