DescriptionFeaturing the first cover appearance of the villain Gaslamp, Strange Academy #15 is on fire over in the comic book market! The first real baddie of the series, who just so happens to sport an awesome design, folks are in a tizzy about this new character! Of course, the introduction of a new character is only part of the reason I thought to add this to my collection (you never do know whether a new character will be the next big thing or fizzle out), because check out the majesty of this piece of art! When Humberto Ramos is on fire, man, he's on fire! Everything about this cover, including the overall gothic feel, is just downright perfect and instantly sets the mood for both the individual page and everything to come. Super pleased I could add this to my collection and beat the rush of folks who apparently were also looking to snag this cover!Social/Sharing |

Great atmosphere with the deep inks, glow of the lamp, overcast clouds, and bricks in perspective. Ramos' great composition and high illustrative style used here is a new benchmark of his work.

Unfortunately, I haven't added Strange Academy to my reading list yet so don't know much about it, but this cover is gorgeous! Very nice!

I swear, you and I were twins separated at birth. We have such similar tastes, it's seriously eerie. As is the case for so many of the pieces you acquire, I was so tempted by this one. Glad you grabbed it. CONGRATS on a beautiful Ramos 1st appearance.

Haha I love it! And I'd say that's pretty accurate! Well, now you know who you can leave your art too, seeing as we love the same stuff :) i think we also just have good taste! Thank you!

Superb cover by Ramos! Love the Gothic feel to the art and I love the design of these two characters. I take one look at this cover and I want to know more. And isn't that what covers are all about?

Humberto's definitely outdone himself on some of his Strange Academy work and this definitely qualifies. Great depth, sense of atmosphere, and so much detailed hatch-y goodness around is uniquely cartooned style! Sweet example, Simon, congrats!
