DescriptionA John Romita Sr. Spidey page has been on my bucket list forever and with each one that sold at auction over the years the prices seem to keep going up and the art further out of reach.When this page became available - I realized that it didn't have the best angle on Spidey but did excel in other parts. I have to admit that while a lot of artists get Spider-Man right, what I really love about Romita Sr. Spider-Man is Peter and his love interests (This is before Gwen died, which happened only 4 issues later). With that in mind, this page checked all the boxes. Finally there are 2 artists credited as inkers on this - and I believe this has to do with the extra work that went into doing the backgrounds. I believe one or both of these fellas drew them while Romita Sr. did the characters. For what its worth, I think the effort paid off! Thanks again for checking out my gallery! Social/Sharing |

Spidey does a lot of swinging. Two of the ladies he swung with on one page.....Look at Harry! Clearly mad. Hes ignoring MJ.

Wow, a John Romita Sr page with Peter in both his Spider-Man guise AND his civilian guise (gettin' some from his squeeze!). This is a true beauty, congrats!

Fantastic page, Duke! I'm a big fan of the way Romita drew his non-costumed characters, especially Gwen. That lower middle panel is fantastic. Congrats on a huge pickup.

Hey Dan, this is such a great page. The two loves of his life, a cool Spidey panel, and wrap it up with a kiss! Love the inks. I gotta think those are Mooney inks.

Stunning Romita Spider-Man page! What made Romita so perfect at drawing Spider-Man was that he could draw both Spider-Man's action scenes and Peter Parker's daily life equally well. This is a terrific page with a poignant moment between Peter and Gwen just before catastrophe struck. Great pick-up!

Oh, man, big congrats! Got some Spidey but the feature are those last 2 panels - straight CLASSIC Romita Sr gorgeous ladies. And the 2 many of us associat with him most in Gwen and MJ. Wow. Congrats, again!

Wowsers! A Romita Spidey page?! It's gorgeous. And I actually dig that web-slinging angle, laying down Spidey's path. And no kidding on the inking, it's soo good. With that level of finish, one inker would have had trouble getting this one out the door in time, imo. And Pete's story was always about the ladies in his life. Great score. Swinging high!
