I was obsessed with this character when I was a kid. Back then I was too young to know about Frazetta, or Death-Dealer, or Tim Truman, all I knew is I'd been hearing whispers about this mysterious Dungeons & Dragons I HAD to know more about, and now suddenly there was a cartoon and toys!? And just look at this bad ass. His glowing eyes called to me from the pages of the Consumers Distributing catalogue.

One Friday night we stopped at a toy store and there he was, along with all the D&D toys, but I only had eyes for my Duke. Wake up the Saturday morning, and who's on the show? War-frickin-duke. It was dark destiny, and more than my little kid brain could bear!

I must have busted off and glued the head of that figure back on 50 times from 1983 until about 1995 or so, when I finally lost track of him.

But this isn't comictoyfans.com, so regarding the art... Mike Rooth is a kick ass artist and a righteous dude, who captured everything that makes this character awesome, so of course I had to schnag this piece.
