I've started down a dark road ...

I've primarily been a Marvel/DC nostalgia buyer during my short OA collecting history, but I stumbled across a few pulp paintings during a Heritage auction last year -- gangsters, dames in trouble, snakes biting faces -- I couldn't look away. Eventually, I found myself feverishly bidding on the cover to Real Men magazine called Loungin. I just love the entire vibe of the piece -- laying topless on a pile of money with a sly smile and side glance toward her partner as he casually smokes a cigarette and cleaning his gun -- perfect!

Did I needs this? No.
Will this hang over the mantle? No.
Will I buy another? Absolutely.

I pray it isn't a slippery slope to Gothic romance covers.

Non-comics illustration art is dirt cheap compared to mainstream comic art, so stop praying and keep buying more. Oh, and I'm not sure how you slide from Men's Magazine illustrations like this over to Gothic paperback covers, but yes, stop praying and keep buying!

i love it. this is a beautiful piece that vibes bigger and better then most pieces i have seen on caf. congrats on getting this and may your slippery slope be a fun one.
