DescriptionWelcome back to Shemp's Gallery. It's cover month at Shemp's Gallery, where I post a new cover every Sunday. For this last cover of cover month, I went with a rarity, a DC Comics cover from Geof Darrow. I don't think Geof has done too much DC work. A pin up here or there. A cover or two, maybe. I haven't seen too many from him. No heroes on this, just a beautifully drawn cover. It's on a board slightly larger than 19x13. It being a Darrow the detail is amazing. You get lost in all the pterosaurs. I would love to see him do more DC characters, even if they are convention drawings. I would love to see him do a Jonah Hex, he would kill it. Maybe one day. Maybe one day indeed! Darrow is just the best. You can always find new details every time you look at his pieces.

Love the topic. I feel like one of the characters from Avatar are going to be hidden in there lol.

Beautiful F-14 Tomcat! The plane made popular in comics and toys as the GI Joe Skystriker! And of course featured in Top Gun! If this is DC, maybe Val Kilmer Batman / Ice Man is at the controls!

Very beautifully illustrated! Actually reminds me of Travis Morgan's (The Warlord) origin!

Do you call a group of Pterodons a flock? No, you call it trouble, no disaster. Nice cover. Congrats.

So busy, but absolutely nothing is lost here. Could stare at this beauty for hours.

Oh this is incredible. I feel like only Darrow can pull this off. I quit counting at 36 pterodactyls.

I didn't realize that Darrow had ever done any DC covers. This is amazing!

He actually drew 2 covers for DC. This one here and the cover to a one-shot called G.I. Combat (2010).
