Description

This issue of Suicide Squad features the origin of Barbara Gordon becoming Oracle. This page recites the "Killing Joke" story where Joker shoots Barbara Gordon (Batgirl) paralyzing her.

It was printed in 1990 a year and a half after the "Killing Joke" was released. I believe this is the only time the story was retold. Barbara Gordon's cameo appearance as Oracle is Suicide Squad #23. It's revealed in Suicide Squad #38 Oracle is Barbara Gordon. In Suicide Squad #48 she joins the team at the request of Amanda Waller.

Great page! I can't remember this issue and really need to go and dig it out , it's almost (if not) as graphic as the original!
