Great piece. IMHO, this could be Voltar or Conan. Without the winged helmet, I think it's likely it's the latter.

There seems to be different thoughts on which character it is. I'm open any feedback anyone has. I'd like to title the page correctly. Thanks for looking.

This is a great painting but I am very certain that this is Voltar and not Conan. Alcala created Voltar in 1963 in the Philippines. Alcala's first work on Conan was in SSOC #2 which was printed in 1974, three years AFTER this painting, so its very doubtful that this is Conan. There is also a similar Alcala painting currently on HA from 1972 being touted as a Conan painting. I have contacted them about this as well. Of interest is the belt buckle on this painting and the HA painting, both being very similar with concentric circles. I dont recall seeing Alcala draw Conan with this type of belt. Regardless its a great piece and a joy to those of us who love Alcala's work.
