Description

I bought the original pencil preliminary by Frank Brunner in 2019 (posted in my CAF Gallery). I contacted Gary Martin to commission an inked version of this piece (10/23) and the results are so beautiful. Incredible cross-hatching technique used throughout. Beyond expectations to be sure. 12x16" on comic art board. Original Brunner art was used in the book "Mythos: The Fantasy Realms of Frank Brunner" and was a bonus plate shown only in the Collector's Edition which I was lucky enough to find. The inks on this are superb and I like them better than the original shown in the book. Gary is a master of his craft. I've always enjoyed Enemy Ace and the Knights in bi-planes battling amongst the clouds idea during WWI.

Showing the other images really brings the story together. Thanks! Like you, I find Martin's version more appealing than the published piece (which was very nice, too).
