DescriptionTwo pages from Daniel on one 11x17 board. Interestingly, they’re not consecutive pages (which makes me curious about Daniel’s workflow), but you won’t find me complaining! I love the harsh perspective and dynamic inking on page one, which, when married to the colors Daniel assigned to the published page, really underscore the sense of velocity and movement. Some fun POV and layout choices to support the great action-storytelling going on on page 3 as well! How wonderful is it to find pen and paper art from a project you thought had been done digitally? An enormous shout-out of thanks to Doctor Fantastic for pointing the way towards Daniel's artwork availability, and a very hefty thank you as well to Óscar at Black Diamond! Social/Sharing |

Hey, the fact that the Mandrill can control only women's mind is definitely sexist 🤣 Great pages!

Gorgeous figure work and perfect execution! Great pick up Jason, though I expect nothing less from you!

Very interesting indeed about the workflow, but two beautiful pages. Love the dynamic feel of the spidey free fall piece

I love the perspective of Spidey falling in the splash on the left, and the panel layout on the page on the right is very nicely done. A double whammy of Acuna goodness.

In this life I've seen everything of Spidey woman
I've seen spiders fighting through the air hand to hand
I've seen monkeys dancing in the Mandrill fun
And I've seen dreams that came from the steadily lines I love
I've seen ape men doing all their monkey shines
And I've seen page two only in the picture slides
But I (I…)
Never seen nothing like you
(Never seen Spider like you)
Woman
(You Acuña want the page?)
I need it
(Dude, Acuña blows my mind?)
I tell ya
(Dude, Acuña has my love)

The biggest thing I can take away from this is the irony that the guy who pointed you towards art that you wanted to add to your collection goes my the moniker "Doctor Fantastic ". The next biggest thing I take away from seeing this, aside from the fact that it is quite nice, is what you mentioned about the artist's process. I imagine drawing 2 story pages on a single board has to do with drawing smaller in order to more easily meet deadlines. But why he would draw two non-consecutive story pages on the same board? That is a curious mystery! I'm intrigued....

The biggest thing I can take away from this is that Ruben DaCollector has no idea who I am! Jason, I am so happy you scored this amazing Acuna. Seeing his work in B&W is transformative-- I am so happy you get to experience it too!

I really enjoy Acuna's blend of classic 70/80s comic artistry with current modernity.

Pretty dang cool to get 2 pages on the same board and it's definitely an interesting peek into Daniel's process workflow that they're not consecutive. You get a NICE collection of money shots here of Spidey and Spider-Woman but I must admit I'm partial to any page that features...The Mandrill! YES! More Mandrill art, I say!! I would go without money shots if we could just get more monkey shots!
