DescriptionThe New Mutants have always been a favorite, and I managed to pick this up.Loved it so Much I found a place that was teaching framing and I made the frame for this artwork. The New Mutants was not originally scheduled for the release date but was pushed up because another artist could not have his production ready, so the Graphic novel was dropped on Bob McLeod and crew with almost no time. This page went to marvel after rush pencil and ink. just before printing they noticed Rahne Sinclair (Wolfsbane) was shot, but no one in the crowd had a gun. At marvel out came the exacto knife and off went a torch in the second panel. (white out and box slightly visible. they had another artist draw a rifle, pasted it in place and off it went. You can see in the third panel it reverted back to a torch. I learned the Marvel Story later, but this was my first New Mutants page I purchased. Social/Sharing |

Is it just a weird coincidence that just today, Bob posted his copy of the inked page in his Patreon ? Bob's image doesn't have the rifle. His image looks too nice. I like how your page aged to a nice ivory color.

Love your write-up on this page. Everything was conspiring to have the creative team just get something utilitarian out the door, and they still managed to create aesthetically beautiful work.

The issue remains a classic to this day and McLeod's art still has the stunning emotion behind every panel of this struggle for an outsider to be accepted in a society that hates them.

You have made quite the splash with your postings, Tom. You have posted some tremendous pages. Is there more under the iceberg?
