image area 14 x 9". Sandy Plunkett pencilled, and P Craig Russell inked, the 'Switch Witch' story in Marvel Fanfare #6 (1983, Marvel), BUT Craig Russell alone did the great cover based on this story. IN this commission, completed in 2023, Alexander 'Sandy' Plunkett does his own take on what that cover might have been if he had been chosen to do it along with the story. I rate Sandy as one of those great Artists's Artists, his work in the top-level class with artists such as Mark Schultz and Dave Stevens, but because of his disdain for the comics-publishing industry, his body of work is not as large for someone who's been a pro for over four decades, and thus not on the lips of as many appreciators of comic art. Great illustration! So amazing he can still get such effect and power. It's like a time machine transporting us back to the 80's and seeing what might have been.
