DescriptionYep, Heritage got me with this one! I know a lot of the older/younger guys, who missed the 80's Transformers era, thought I was nuts for going after this piece. But after seeing this one pop up during one of the Heritage auction previews, I came back to visit the image on the site on a daily basis. Read this comic multiple times as a kid and the cover image was ingrained in my 11-year-old head. I knew I was going to have to pull out all the stops if I wanted this one in the collection. Especially since HA decided to put it on the cover of their catalog! I knew I was in trouble. Bidding opened strong and just as I was about to throw in the towel, HA's auctioneer told "me" I was going to regret it the next morning if I didn't put in one final bid (give that man a raise). If you consigned this piece, you owe the under bidder and that auctioneer a beer! It was a big chunk to put down on a single piece, but so worth it every time that nostalgia hits when I see it!Social/Sharing |

Congrats on an epic pick up. I'm sure the scan doesn't do it justice. I bet it's "more than meets the eye" ;)

Congrats on a major take-down! Beautiful cover,oozing in nostalgia for more than 1 11 year old boy.

I took a peek at HA to see what it cost you. It was 1-1/2 times what my house cost. That is a pretty penny, but worth it, in my opinion. This may be my favorite Don Perlin work. It is an awesome cover.

such an exciting time! wonderful film that i still take in a couple times a year. great cover to kick off a terrific couple issues. wicked catch! great to see it here!

I knew there would be a ton of interest in this cover but had no idea it would reach the level it did. Milestone cover and what a movie! I remember seeing it as a kid in the theater and being in complete shock by what they did to my favorite autobots.
