Description

This started with an email to Daniel [1] who I knew was coming to AwesomeCon 2014 in DC, asking about a potential "family portrait of the Endless" commission :)

Having had the privilege of getting some art from Daniel in the past, I knew this piece was very much going to be to his liking, and his "Death, Dream, Despair, Destruction, Desire, Delirium, Destiny as a family portrait. I love it!" answer was exactly what I hoped :)
We discussed an 17x22 (on 18x24 paper) piece to pick up at the con.

The result is this stunning mixed media that had a lot of people entranced stopping by Daniel's booth as he was adding something extra to make it this perfect.

Wonderfully executed to integrate each of them into the composition! Is that your family portrait out front and center?

No, we are not represented in the art, here is what Daniel told me at the time of his plan...

" I am looking at having them on one common background/setting. I am leaning right now towards it being an outdoor street scene - perhaps Paris at a Cafe with an alley beside it. The idea I have is that some of the characters will be interacting a bit with spectators:

Desire catching the attention of a guy walking by with his girlfriend
Despair hanging back in the alley with a number of rats - out of sight of most, with a little girl walking past with their family and in front of the alley she has dropped her ice cream on the ground - the tragedy!
Destruction and Dream playing chess at the cafe.
Delirium dancing in the fountain as Death sits on the side of it looking on with a grin.
For Destiny I thought maybe of having him holding his book in his usual robes, staring up at someone standing on a soap box with an "end is near" sign wearing similar robes.

Which as you can guess my answer was "this is an incredible idea !" :)
