This page contains wonderful art and story by a group of creators arriving at the top of their game, but, at the time, it was also contains one of the most consequential moments in American comic book history.

The last panel is of course the most important from a story perspective. But looking at the original art, I'm most interested in the warp effect on the first panel. Is that a collage of patterns?
