He was so easy to identify with as a kid. I always imagined to be Colossus when I felt small or an outcast. Byrne made this metal being very relatable by putting heart and his sense of struggle.

An another fine example, Colossus is 2nd to Wolvie as my favorite X-Man. What a killer page after all these years there is still a lot of magic in these Byrne Austin pages! CONGRATS!!!!!!!

This run had so few splash pages that they are all so memorable this is one of the best opening pages.

Great image. Colossus in crushing machines is iconic and one of my earliest comic memories!
