DescriptionThis issue left a huge imprint on me when I was growing up. I remember getting it for reading material on a long drive to see my grandparents and I was blown away by it and re-read it multiple times on the trip. The hardest part was it took me several years to track down the second part to this story in Marvel-Two-In-One Annual #2 when I found it in a back issue bin. This was the first time I’d read a story with Thanos as the villain and it really sets him up to be the cosmic villain that he ends up being.Social/Sharing |

As great as the Thanos imagery is, that techno-background in panel 1 takes it to the top!

I like everything about this page. I think Starlin outdid himself on these two issues.

You are on a roll my friend! This two-parter was the definitive cosmic-saga in my opinion. Everything cosmic that followed derived from this.

Pipping ain't easy! Cosmic visions by Starlin were revolutionary in their grand scope and high stakes!

This one powerful page. The top panel is awesome, but the bottom panel just nails it. I'm scared, and I'm not even Pip.

the good ole days, when you had to work to find a comic book issue. makes owning the art even more rewarding.

As most people agree this 2 issue story was an absolute high point of my childhood comics reading timeline. As an Avengers guy seeing them drawn by Starlin blew me away...and finding those Captain Marvel back issues later was the chefs kiss! I have had the luck and pleasure to own 4 pages from this saga over the years and they are amazing up close. Huge congrats bud on another spectacular page!

One of the best Thanos pages ever! By the way, Starlin inked this page.

The astounding two-part conclusion of the first Thanos/Warlock/Captain Marvel arc completely blew me away as well! Still trying to get over it... Fantastic page, of course!

Gorgeous Jim Starlin Avengers page! Love this two-panel page with Thanos and Pip. The top panel is a surprise as Thanos grabs Pip, lifting him off his feet and preventing him from running off. And in the bottom panel the tension increases as Thanos leans in close to Pip and reveals his darker side. It's a stunning page, one of the first times Thanos begins his transition into the villain we known him as today. Phenomenal pick-up, congrats!

That's a great memory you have of this story, Steve, so to have the opportunity to acquire the original art to to what may very well be the most desireable page in it, is absolutely incredible. The comic art gods smile down upon you for sure. Congratulations!
