DescriptionI can't say I'm a long time fan of Bacilieri (born in Verona, 1965) nor I've collected this Bonelli series, which was published in Italy from 1997 to 2006 (54 issues).Nevertheless - as I imagine it sometimes happens to many comic art lovers - I was immediately struck by this page when I saw it, so that I gave in to the urge to buy it from my friends at tavoleoriginali.net 😉 The story is inspired by Peter Weir's beautiful movie "Fearless", starring the great Jeff Bridges (I highly recommend you to watch it, if you haven't already) and, in this dramatic page, the main character's girlfriend discovers he was on a plane that crashed, which he came out totally unscathed from. I like everything about this page: from the masterful composition to the unique style (linear and clean, but at the same time extremely rich and detailed); from the characters expressions to the use of the cityscape to set the pace for the story. And have you noticed that funny picture hanging above the bed? 😂 (pen and ink on artboard, 11,5"x 16,5" - signed) Social/Sharing |

Those thin lines create a really nice shading effect when seen afar, but are very impressive as well when seen up close and how clean it works all together.

didn't read Napoleone, but I know Bacilieri from other series (Dylan Dog, for example)... a truly peculiar and unique artist, also a great storyteller

Love how the page starts small, with a tight close-up and keeps opening up wider and wider until the final panel with the cityscape of Paris. Beautifully done!
