Description

This is the final artwork for the 1994 Evil Ernie Revenge Issue 1. The artwork though titled and mentioned to be the glow in the dark version, does not seem to be the one that was finally chosen. Lady death is more straightforward in the final cover than this side shot which I think is 10 times better.

Thank you to Frank Lanza. This cover art was utilized as the ashcan comi. c limited to 1500 copies.

I also found out that it is the original art use for the Fiend Club. The main t-shirt from the club has this art on the front and back. Also on stickers. It is also the evil Ernie chromium card set number 45.

Steven Hughes' art is very accomplished in 1994 as his signature characters were at the height of popularity breaking into mainstream charts. Hughes is able to capture the time period where bad girls and bad boys of the 90's ruled.

A classic Hughes Lady Death/Evil Ernie piece, you didn't get to see them together nearly as much as I would have liked. What you have here is the cover for the Evil Ernie/Lady Death Preview Ashcan, it was printed with an orange-ish cover.
