According to Eastman this was the first full color painting of the turtles specifically done to dress up the booth for the first comic convention they went to. This is also where they are all wearing "Red Bandanas" started, and it would remain so unt'll they tweaked them for the toys and cartoon show in 1987.

I was at this show.
Bought a stack of back issues and decided to go with Kirby Demon instead of the "weird new book" which was REALLY EXPENSIVE to boot.

Sigh. Talk about missed opportunites
