DescriptionSoooo- back in the X-men world right after the mutant massacre the X-men were in flux… half the team was seriously injured and a bunch of newbies were back filling.. leaving wolverine and storm as the veterans. In issue 215 storm and wolverine go on a mission and send the rest of the team to take the injured to Muir island. Claremont introduces 3 new characters in 215 , Crimson Commando Stonewall and Silver Sabre. All war heroes who have devolved into vigilantes because of what they have endured… Claremont obviously used these characters to reinforce the morals of storm and the X-men while also showing that they may need to get a bit harder after the beating they just took! Finally getting onto my page here… the best page in the two issue ark in my opinion.. basically Storm has challenged the Crimson Commando to a one on one fight… loser goes home … and she kicks his ass!! (Remember storm was powerless at the time commando was not!) Jackson Guice does a nice job on the art for this issue and Dan Greens inking keeps the look of the book at the time… and of course Mohawk storm!! Social/Sharing |

I was deep into reading the X-books at this point. Issue 315 was the last one I remember picking up at my local shop. Then I sold them all. Was a fun dozen years or so of reading while I lasted. I subscribed to Marvel Unlimited recently to catch up on 5 or 6 years of Star Wars books I haven't read. Your gallery in particular Jason, is convincing me it is maybe time to catch up on some of my merry mutant friends next. Cheers to a great page!

I like Butch better, but Jackson is cool too. He can put you in close to the battle. Right up to the point of starting the fight, Guice pulls back just enough to show the fight play out. Guice art on Uncanny is exciting high quality tight work.

Uncanny was so different back then. Every issue was a surprise. This was a great two parter. Excellent fight page!
