DescriptionBryan Hitch only did a couple issues of Uncanny X-men back in the day so very happy to add a great page from him to the collection. When I first noticed Bryan’s art I liked it.. the Alan Davis influence probably helped as I’m a super fan of Alan’s .. but Bryan had a uniqueness of his own and as he evolved found his own distinct style. This page while early in his US days starts to show that uniqueness … great panel layout and storytelling as Storm swoops in to stop Wolverine from attacking a currently lobotomized Sabertooth as only she could back then! Bought it directly from Bryan via his rep (Bill Cox) and such a smooth transaction! Thanks Bill!Social/Sharing |

That guy is a super rep bridging the gap of the ocean and skirting international tariffs as only Floridians can! This is definitely Hitch and Smith's effort to fill in a gap for Davis as they woud have done the X-Men Prime style otherwise. The flowing lines to show Storm's regal godlike grace is very intentional on their part to rein in the savage Wolverine.

Great page and the Davis influence is strong, I had to relook at who it was since I didn't think Davis was doing X art in this era. Enjoy seeing Hitch X art from the mid 90's, great representative page.

Can't do much better than that for a Bryan Hitch, Uncanny X-Men page. Congrats.

Hitch gives Storm a regal look that's perfect for the character.

I'm a suckah for that Wolvie uniform design with the top of the boots flaring off like that.
