"Ethel" newspaper strip
Art all: Ethel Hays
1927 NEA

After about 12 years of searching I have finally got an inked Ethel Hays strip from the 20's!
Known for "Flapper Fanny" the few originals out there I know of are pretty small, around 4.5 x 8 inches.
This one is massive in comparison with an image area of 17 3/4 x 8 1/4 inches.

Its dimensions and date and lack of header lead me to believe it is an "Ethel" strip that ran concurrently with Flapper Fanny and was printed at over twice the size of the Fanny strips.
I have collected old scrapbooks and tear sheets of her work, with the overwhelming majority being from 1928 or newer and I don't have a copy of the printed strip. So, if you are 1 of maybe 2 or 3 other people who are interested in Hays work and have a copy of the printed version, please let me know. And if you happen to own any of her strip work and want to part with it, I want it!
