8-2020...My SECOND ever auction win! And my first ever cover! Francis Manapul is perhaps my favorite comic book artist and this is very likely my favorite piece in my collection. I love how he revitalized the Flash (my favorite superhero) and think his art is spectacular! Great composition and use of tones and shading really make the piece pop! Here we have the Flash teaming up with Captain Cold against the Rogues (to protect Central City from property damage) who have double crossed their team leader, opting out to follow his sister Golden Glider instead; not surprisingly Leonard Snart shortly turns the table on the Scarlet Speedster. Reminiscent of the Spirit covers with "vs the Rogues" drawn out of the ice! I've opted out to hang the piece without printing the "The Flash" title logo because it looks great even without it. Impressive piece with the Flash and the Rogues in their superpower-charged New 52 incarnation Captain Cold, Heat Wave, Weather Wizard, Mirror Master, Golden Glider, and Turbine (not really a Rogue but got caught into the mix when exiting the Speed Force...intrigued? You must read the Flash New 52!)

This is a mighty acquisition! Manapul follows in the tradition of Eisner and Infantino to use the name as an important element of the cover design! Terrific with Flash versus so many of his rogues all on one cover in the Manapul wash style.

What a great run this was. They way he laid out his panels and used the text on the title pages was pure genius. Congrats on this perfect example of that.

There is so much to love about this cover. The shading just blows me away. The way Manapul spelled out "Vs the ROGUES" within the scenary is amazing. And getting ALL THOSE ROGUES with their weapons?!?!? WHAT?!??! You won't get much better than this great piece.

He did something few artists so, he made it memorable, made it his own and he made it wonderful. I hadn't read Flash in a while but when I heard Francis was going to be doing it, I knew I was in. Beautiful work, love how he tied the logo and text together and the Rogues are great, Congrats!

Thank you, Thomas! Your description exactly takes the words right out of my mouth! Francis' beautiful work really grew my passion for collecting modern comics and then comic book art. DC owes him big time with all the money I spent on their comics thanks to him! =)
