3-2025...Another fun background from a Speedy Gonzalez short! Have you ever seen a nicer looking tin can?!

"We got to do something about this Speedy Gonzales fellow!" Speedy's jealous male friends are tired of Speedy stealing away the affections of all the local girl mice, in this funny Friz Freleng-directed Looney Tunes short, first shown on 11/30/1957. Here's an original hand-painted production background of a tin can on the sidewalk, used by the speaking mouse as a "soapbox." It can be seen at about the 1:55 timestamp. The art is painted by Russian-born artist Boris Gorelick (1911 - 1984) with gouache on a 14.75" x 10.5" 3-peghole lightweight board. This superb background employs a "sponge-painting" effect
