DescriptionDavid does some amazing commission work, and his Harry Potter art is freakin' gorgeous. Ever since I saw the Marauder's Map piece he did I've been craving a Petersen Potter. The opportunity presented itself when his sketchlist opened for C2E2 and I was able to snag a slot. I'd originally asked for something a bit more complicated, with Hagrid jumping off the motorcycle at the same moment Voldemort was closing in, but it was a bit too much to cram in and David tweaked it to be more Hagrid-centric - which worked brilliantly! I love how huge Hagrid is in the frame, and how tiny an adult Harry still seems in his sidecar. And I especially love the umbrella, which to be honest I never really thought through the scale of relative to Hagrid. So yeah, awesome piece, great composition, and great attention to the true detail of the character. Social/Sharing |
