DescriptionThis piece wasn’t acquired at OAX2025… but I wouldn’t have gotten it if not for OAX2025. You always hear how it’s about the people., and I think we all stress that so much it must sound like overkill to people who have not gone to an OAX yet.. but this wonderful piece is a direct result of connecting with new friends at the Con. Mike Carro the artist is an OA Collector I had met a couple times before locally in the NY area. I know he collects some of the same things as I do and I knew he was an accomplished Tattoo artist .. but that was about the extent of it. We both wound up at OAX this year and of course had a couple friends in common and wound up hanging out late night at the bar. Long story short I was able to help Mike out with a very small favor.. really nothing that would require more than a thank you… but the next day he said he wanted to send me a piece of his art. I said thank you but totally not necessary… I appreciated the sentiment but really wasn’t sure it would happen or had any expectations. When I got home Mike reached out and said he had something original he came up with for me after seeing my commission tastes. A couple days later and WOW this showed up … I was floored when I opened the package. The piece is amazing! It’s done with color pencils and acrylic paints on a black board.. the scan really doesn’t capture the nuances… and the scene he creates with the goblins essentially coming out of the darkness using the black board is so original .. Marcus! You just need to attend OAX and you can see Jason in the pool as well! You might even get a truffle shuffle as well!

What a great story! Good feels, even with an ominous Goblin Queen and her demon pets emerging from the shadows!

awesome story jason, makes the piece even more cool, ive yet to get a piece of art gifted, like this, but youve given me hope,lol
