DescriptionOver the last year, I fell in love with Ethan Young's art. I love his clean lines, interesting compositions & understanding of the craft. His style has that nice blend between being cartoony & somewhat realistic, not unlike Chris Samnee. For the subject - it's no secret that I enjoy seeing Spider-Man beaten up once in a while. Ethan agreed, as he loves drawing Spidey. He went back to the classics, "Amazing Spider-Man" #33 (1963) & that iconic Ditko issue, with Peter pushing himself to his limits - and beyond. Ethan executed the idea amazingly & realized a great marriage between the organic form of Spidey, the fluidity of the water, and that hard, cold Kirby-esque tech. What amazed me even more, seeing this commission in real life, is just HOW clean it is. You can see it on the scan, but you really feel it when looking at it on paper. Truly a finished illustration. Working with Ethan was one of the easiest direct interactions I've had with an artist. Ethan gave continuous updates, from start to finish. This was the 9x12 "full illustration" option, ordered in September 2023 & finished in November 2023. Social/Sharing |

I had the great, great, pleasure and privilege of seeing the ORIGINAL Ditko splash of ASM #33 right here in my living room. This is a wonderful homage to that iconic and historical page.

Really sharp work by Young! It presents a lot bigger than 9" x 12" and leaves a bigger impact!

You really do! He's been doing some fun covers at DC, too - always quite creative in composition, too!
