DescriptionThe art days of Christmas 2021 continues with a gift from Bruce Timm collector Mr. Kent Mansley. Just like last year, Mr. Mansley really likes animation artists and gifted me these two full color sketch cards by Dan Hipp. Hipp was a top art director on Teen Titans Go! in WB animation and Cartoon Network to bring comics characters to the screen. These two monarchs embody their positions as heads of state with power and noblity which may run opposite each other. Thank you Agent Mansley. It took 3 tries to get your little girl to smile? She's a tough nut to crack! You need to change up your approach. Regale her with tales of Lord Havok, that should do the trick.

I can see it's a joyous Crhistmas for children of all ages at Chez Wai! What a thoughtful gift of Hipp sketch cards --- can't decide which one I like more. Beautiful colors, and I love Hipp's brand of buoyant figures in extreme action

Given the writing on the Namor card, I'm going to imagine that the Sub-Mariner is dancing to Bobby Darin's "Splish Splash." Also, a very happy holiday season to you and your family!

So I just became aware of Dan Hipp and everything i have seen is clean and fun with these two pieces definitely being a part of that combo. Also happy 2022 big buddy.

I don't think I've ever LOLed at comic art more than when I realized those sound effects were "splish splash" - that's hilarious.
