Description

I see Leinil Yu's artstyle as a fluid combination of the roughness in Whilce Portacio's work and the detailed 90's crosshatch work by Travis Charest. I think that Leinil is one of the best of the generation after the Founding Fathers of Image Comics. I'm happy to see that he's still drawing mainstream comics (instead of going into gaming or movie business leaving comics behind).

Unfortunately, his impact on Uncanny X-Men was less than Jim Lee, Marc Silvestri or Whilce Portacio did, but his artwork on Wolverine was definitely classic. This regular cover for UXM # 1 with a nice bunch of high profile mutants on it is still one of the best covers in my collection!

I've always enjoyed Yu's work. Nice mutant group shot!

This to me is a new classic X-cover. So many of my favorite characters on one X-Men cover can be difficult to come by. It's fun seeing Jubilee alongside Laura and Cannonball. I love how Yu rendered Beast and Iceman. Solid work and solid pick-up.
