Description

Weird War Tales was an anthology book that had a pretty accurate title. It ran for about 12 years and was a personal favorite of mine. I was thrilled to get a chance at a complete story from early in the run. Tony de Zuniga really was clicking on all cylinders in this story.

Another interesting point is that the story (spoiler alert) takes place in 1944 and looks 50 years into the future - 1994. Interesting. But more interesting is that it was drawn in 1973, which is - wait for it - 50 years ago!!

Eerie, right?

Great panel progression and design, with you looking at the column coming toward you, then you're within it, then you're looking at the horizon with them. Congrats!

Big fan of this title as well. DC War but in a very "Bronze Age" sort of way.

Fabulous page from Weird War Tales. Tony de Zuniga did an amazing job of setting a realistic setup for what was certain to have a very strange ending. Great composition, great panel progression and gorgeous inks.
