Description

This is from the 1993 Sabertooth mini series story by Larry Hama, art by Mark Texeira and inks by Michael Bair.
This revealed some of Sabertooth's past and relationship with Mystique. It has a little Sienkiewicz vibe in some of the pages.

The top panel evokes Poe's "Murders in La Rue Morgue" as the beastial Sabertooth looks out upon Paris as he hunts his prey. And I really like the size of Sabertooth in the bottom panel as he captures a disguised Mystique.

The atmosphere is amazing! I can imagine that Tex might have added some of his own painterly brush inks for the more rough and gritty parts of Sabertooth's anatomy.

This is the book I think of when I first think "Sabretooth". Man, whawt a great example! Love how big he is at the top, combined with being mostly shadowed in. Then you got action in the next panel and Raven! Winning page, top to bottom. Tex really showed out on this book. Congrats!
