Description

I've been a fan of Craig's artwork on TMNT since before I was even reading comic books. I saw the cover for TMNT #58 (the close up on the turtle's face) and I was captivated by the realism and emotion he conveyed. Keep in mind, I was a child in the early 90's and really only knew the 1987 cartoon version of the TMNT at the time, so his art was a grand departure from that.

Fast forward and I had the opportunity to spend a few hours with Craig and his wife during the pandemic as restrictions were starting to loosen up a bit. He graciously signed some books for me and even did a few headsketches including this one. He was very kind and I'm very grateful for the time he took with me that day.

Very cool piece and sounds like a great experience meeting him. His cover for TMNT 58 was def gritty and memorable with that closeup

Farley may not have been the top name amongst the artists working on the title, but it makes it all the more special with some more meaningful memories than a fleeting encounter after waiting in long lines.
