Description

This is the last page of the Vampirella story from issue #22 of the magazine, published by Jim Warren in 1973. This page checked several boxes for me: 1)It features Vampirella in three panels, including a nice close up and a full figure, 2)It also features her traditional supporting cast, including Pendragon, Conrad Van Helsing, and Adam Van Helsing, 3)It features the incomparable ink and wash artwork of Jose Gonzalez, and 4)It has a nice cliff-hanger ending in the last panel.

The height of b&w illustration of the day. Vampi is drawn so beautiful with a vitality and sensuality that the other characters look like line art caricatures.
