DescriptionKhoi Pham is a great artists with a unique, memorable style. I've admired his work for some time, and eventually decided I wanted to get my favorite character from him. In a departure from my usual approach I actually requested an SPECIFIC look for this one... his iconic green jumpsuit from the 80s Mantlo and Mignola series. I didn't have a piece in my collection depicting this yet, but its such an important piece of Rockets history I had to add it.During the making of this I actually got to meet Khoi Pham in person, and saw this in the process of being inked. I also got to talk with him, and show him my own work, including a zine I've been giving out. He was truly welcoming and genuinely interested in my art, which was amazing. When he finally delivered this, he event included a little sketch of a character I created for the zine. That left me speechless... and made this piece even more special. As for the art itself whats to say?? I love it, it perfectly captures this era of Rocket and makes maximum use of its 9x12 size. The background against the alien moon is a particularly nice touch, glowing a similar blue to the barrels of his guns. Immaculate. Social/Sharing |

Really nice how Pham filled in the solid black! The thinning out of it to give volume to shapes in shadow is very much a Mignola original art thing that he picked up on.

I also get the Mignola vibe from the piece of Rock he is standing on. What a fun piece of Rocket homage. Love it!

It seemed like he was excited to do this one, I always appreciate when that happens because you know you're going to get a very cool piece out of it
