I bought this from the artist at ukcac 87 ,standing in line to get my comic signed the lad in front asked to buy a piece from his prelim book which he had on the table for you to look at while he signed your stuff ,when he said yes me and my brother jumped on and asked to buy as well .the lad in front bought the hershey from prog 500 ,my brother bought judge dread no1 pre lim that had the wrong publisher on (Brian said he had to redo because he had put empire comics on it then they changed it) and i went for this
it was quite hard to choose given the amount and quality ,but consider myself lucky as he realised he could sell the whole book and have nothing left to show anyone else so stopped selling after me

This is really really great, his prelims are better than a lot of artist's finished covers. A treasure !

Tight pencils! It displays a lot more of the raw ideas of what he's going for than the finished image because of the extra lines left in here.

Timing is everything in life, and recognising and taking an opportunity when it presents itself. Thank you for sharing your entertaining acquisition story. To rework a famous slogan: there are prelims, and then there are Brian Bolland prelims.
