DescriptionI don't know why The Marquis isn't permanently in print. It's such a great book with Guy Davis interiors that'll melt your eyes. Can't say I ever expected to own any Marquis art though. I generally put aside thinking about books from the past but we all have some special occasion exceptions to our collecting rules, right? I saw Eric was selling this and first thought 'oh, he's clicked the wrong button, no one would sell that'. It was no mistake though so my thanks to Eric and bad luck to anyone else who wants this anytime soon, ha! I've never seen a Charles Vess painting in person before and I really can't take a good picure of it that properly shows the beautiful rich colours of it in natural light. Having to stop myself heading off to look for more Charles Vess work. I can't stop looking at it and I've pulled out all my Marquis issues to read again so win-win. Oh yeah, very happy with this one.Social/Sharing |

Congrats, Reba! This is clearly meant to be in your collection. The universe abides.

Well said about the Marquis! Great book. Guy Davis is wonderful, but this Vess is an absolute beauty!! Congrats!

I love the abstract depiction of the trees that mirror the movement of the undulating red terror! What a score. I thought you only paid artists? Rules were meant to be broken! ;-)

Rules schmules - but you are right that I try to avoid paying collectors and yet I've bought 2 things from Eric. He has such an elegant collection. The rule (mostly) holds!
