Description

The Marquis is one of my most favourite comics. Before he sensibly left social media, JAL asked for suggestions for drawings and I suggested The Marquis so I like to think I may have helped this one along. When released for sale by Felix there were actually two Marquis pieces (oh, the terrible dilemma!) but I liked how this one was a little confrontation told in panels. Lots of JAL elements in this one, the tiny pinhole eyes, those hinged jaws, the way he does demons (and Loki) with those horns, the luscious textures and contrasts. My first JAL piece but hope to add another sometime.

It's so cool to see a sequential page from him. I love the background in the first panel. And I agree that the pinhole eyes work so well! I think you made the right choice! Huge congrats!
