Description

I first discovered Johnny Rodriguez's art when I was looking at pictures on Houzz to get ideas for remodeling my house. Someone in LA had one of his paintings on the wall of a bird picking the guts out of a fallen robot. Someone had already asked who the painting was by but there was no response. That led to me spending the next six months scouring the internet, looking at art until I eventually found other robot pieces he had done.

Armed with this knowledge, I knew that I wanted one of his robot paintings. That was another two years of waiting until this came up for sale on Ebay.

This painting is huge at 18" X 36". He now mostly does much smaller pieces, often featuring birds.

I like how there is the red bleeding out from underneath the surface of the painting as if to say that the metallic body housing the heart is leaking through.
