Description"LOOK, Damian... 2026!"As our future spreads out before us in this moment, let me be among the first to wish you HAPPY NEW YEAR! Leaving behind the past and stepping into a new timeline is just the type of occasion that calls for a comprehensive Legion of Super-Heroes roll call, right? Well, here's... um… one of 'em! (And his ‘plus one’!) Ryan Sook’s rich compositions always lean heavily into his mastery of balancing light and shadow, and as such it’s almost startling to see his take on the bright and polished, shadow-free future of the Legion. I really enjoy the little touches and fine details that Ryan sunk into the living, breathing cityscape (the future-font marquee on the building behind Damian's head is a personal favorite, and the tiny, jagged shadow of the couple climbing the steps far off into the right hand page is a killer detail), and both of our heroes look absolutely FANTASTIC (dig the laces on Damian's boots!). Wade’s superb inking fills in the blacks of our heroes’ costumes and leaves the rest of the spread light and airy, with the only real shadows or dark spots here being the ones that Jon and Damian bring with them from the past. (A lesson for us all to take with us into 2026) A lovely, rich sense of space, warmth, and inviting calm, even as Dawnstar flies in from the distance with news... Beautiful colors on the published spread by Jordie Belaire. Thank you once again, Felix, and happy new year, all! Social/Sharing |

Excellent work from Sook and WVG on this Legion DPS Title splash! The Jon and Damian figures/poses/expressions are great, and the highly detailed futuristic cityscape and citizens walking the streets in the background give me Moebius-like sci-fi vibes in the best possible way. Congrats on another Bendis-run banger and Happy New Year!

Typically great Sook work on a series that could never figure out what it wanted to be.

My friend Mark made a comment up above that intimates that Bendis just didn't really know what he wanted to do with this series. To be frank, I never knew what Bendis did after he unceremoniously left the Superman titles, but if Mark is correct in his assessment, it makes me think that Bendis' tenure at DC in general was pretty dismal at best. If that's the case, it could simply be a question of him just not having the same feel for the DC characters that he has for the Marvel ones. Nothing wrong with that, it just is what it is. It's always going to be a lot more difficult to write about characters you don't quite have a strong love for, simply because you're getting paid to do so.
Either way, Ryan Sook's precise, clean lines produced a wonderful double page spread here that can be enjoyed for its artistic prowess alone. No words needed. Have a Happy New Year!

That is a sweet page I loved Ryan Sook work on this. I sat too long thinking about purchasing but he who hesitates is lost. I love when the Legion crossovers with the wider DC universe If you decide down the line to let it go I would love to chat about it. Happy New Year to you and all our fellow CAF'ers

A beautifully drawn page, and it totally has a "looking into the future with bright optimism and wonder" feel to it. Great grab, and Happy New Year to you too!

Sook's art is often deleciously very shadowed and textured but he proves here that he is as apt at a Moebius open line type of art.

The delicate lines on the floating craft seem to mirror the shadow edge line style, as though the craft is also just a shadow. Playful.

Wow! What a strikingly utopian vision of the future! Jon and Damien look almost out of place in this beautiful and perfect vision of the future! I suspect something is not quite right here!
