Description

Picked this up at the Windy City Pulp and Paper Convention, by my friend and artist Randy Broecker. Randy tells me that this illustration was intended for use in an Underwood-Miller edition of The Killing Machine by Jack Vance. Sadly this plate and many others went unused and Randy was paid a kill fee, thus this never saw publication. I love the way Randy signed the piece, you will find his initials in the center of the hero's shield, hidden in plain sight!

Such an amazng piece! Each point and line creates a fine texture! The chainmail is immensely tight.

What a pity this did not see print. I have a few Vance illustrated books myself and would have bought a copy.
