Description

�� I've followed Jeff Smith's Bone story since meeting him at San Diego Comic-Con 1993 and buying the first paperback collection. After collecting drawings in various books over the years, I'm following my friend John's example and starting a jam sketch. In 2005, Jeff began a book tour for Scholastic's color collections. At Comic Relief in Berkeley, I showed him my favorite Walt Kelly image: Pogo surrounded by the animal chillun as he prepared to read to them. So Jeff started with Fone Bone and a book. In San Diego, Jeff added the three possom kids. I made a small donation to the CBLDF and made some further purchases. At Concord's Flying Colors Comics, owner Joe Field had won a CBLDF auction and brought Jeff in for a signing in Dec. 2008. He added Phoney that day. He also signed bookplates for the soon-to-be released RASL volume 1: the Drift paperback. At San Diego Comic-Con 2009, Jeff debuted the first RASL hardcover, the Little Mouse childrens' book, and The Cartoonist DVD. For the jam, he added Roderick Raccoon. Jeff was a special guest at APE in October 2009. He drew Smiley on Saturday and Thorn on Sunday. Jeff suggested some trees would complete the scene. This last bit was finished in San Diego 2010.
