Description

Mingjue Helen Chen is an art director at Paramount Animation. Previously, she was a visual development artist who contributed to Frankenweenie, Paperman, Wreck-it Ralph, Big Hero 6, and others. I'd first seen her name in connection with the Lovely: Girls of Animation Collaborative Art Book.

At CTNX Animation Expo 2014, I asked her about originals for sale on Friday and she went out to her car to bring them inside. I was very happy to make four purchases and she did a nice drawing in my sketchbook. This is an original design by Helen. It does remind me of Japanese anime and manga outfits like those from Neon Genesis Evangelion, Gunbuster, and Bubblegum Crisis.
