With Christmas close, we'll upload a stained glass drawing of St. Christopher carrying the child Jesus. Enjoy!

Title: St. Christopher carrying the child Jesus on his shoulders stained glass panel for the Great East window, All Saints Church, York. Original window designed and built c.1410. This artwork 19th century (possibly for the moving work and restoration work of 1844).
Medium: pen and ink on paper
Size: 375 x 85mm
Inscription:
Artwork has been trimmed to the edge of the image and glued (?) to a board and a mount affixed. So cannot view verso of image.
Signed: No
Notes: This drawing of St. Christopher carrying the child Jesus on his shoulders through water whilst fish swim between his feet is the top right panel in the Great East window, for All Saints Church, York. This window is still in situ.

Stained glass and architecture are an essential part of what gives an old church its distinct personality and All Saints Church is a Cathederal full of them. These displays were the commissioned from the finest artisans of the time. It shows here with a drawing that is as important as the blueprints of the church building itself.
