Every time I see a Bill Sienkiewicz piece in person, I want to be a fly on the wall while he is creating. I can only imagine...

As soon as Sal put this up I reached out to him. I have the perfect wall that has been waiting for an iconic image like this. Plus, it's quite large (19 x 32)

Really masterfully executed - the deep purple clouds at the bottom contrast beautifully with the light breaking through on top.

It's inspiring, yet slightly melancholy too. Is Supes taking off to rest after a job well done, or is he going to his final doom?

Actually - I�ve realized that this painting really reminds me Action #583 - I had a copy that I read dog-eared - that penultimate scene of Superman walking into the vault...
