Description'The Ghoul', a signed original pencil drawing on tracing paper from 1976. Commissioned by Panther/Granada as the cover design for the second volume of Other Dimensions, a collection of short stories by Clark Ashton Smith. Colour work commenced upon the publisher's approval of this drawing.Authentication is provided by an accompanying certificate of authenticity, which will be "genuine original artwork" stamped, dated and hand-signed by Rodney Matthews. Image measures 497 (h) x 314 (w) mm With mount, finished item measures 642 (h) x 430 (w) mm Creases are visible where the paper had been previously folded. The reddish "stain" on the right is overspray from Rodney's airbrush - he began spraying the colour work before noticing that this piece was still on his drawing board.
