The Batman on gargoyle would have been enough, but the Spectre in full as a haunting spirit over him creates just the right tone and atmosphere.

That texture coming from the Spectre as it rolls across Batman's back, its like you can feel the wrath of the spectre as he casts his gaze into Gotham, and only the Bat is imune, sheltered by his cape.

Great piece.  I think that Batman is based on Randy Bowen's Batman statute.

Yowza! What a magnificent illustration of the Spectre and Batman. Gorgeous ink washes by Patric Reynolds! I love how the Spectre is bigger than life, his face stretches across the sky and his open mouth seems to project pure white light over Gotham. I also notice Batman is all in shadow, hunched over as if recoiling from the Spectre's pure light, holding his cape around himself to ward off the brightness. Very cool pick-up, congratulations!.

Batman's crouch is just extraordinary - like watching a big cat about to pounce!!
